While studying abroad at the London College of Fashion, I enrolled in a draping course. Our final project was to drape a toile. Fascinated by the incorporation of menswear in womenswear fashions, my vision for the project was to delicately manipulate a men’s peacoat into a cocktail dress. I used affordable muslin and treated wood buttons to take my 2-D designs to a 3-D reality. Over the course of the semester, I was enlightened to the freedom of draping and to the tools with which one can drape.
